What can we learn about violence and nonviolence from Jesus’ arrest? Why did the arresting company go ready for a fight? Why did Jesus not fight back?
What would it look like for you to be a true peacemaker? Jesus can imagine you being a peacemaker. Can you imagine it? Can you see the possibility that God can redeem those you call enemies?
April 13 – From Majesty to Mocking

Purpose Statement: To understand what the mocking from the soldiers revealed about Jesus
What does Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem say about him? What does it say about those who were made to feel uncomfortable? Does anything about Jesus’ triumphal entry make you uncomfortable?
Have you ever been the subject of mockery or other bullying? Have you ever perpetrated mockery or other bullying? How Jesus’ experience change your point of view?

How do you encounter Jesus today? In other people, circumstances, or the presence of the Holy Spirit?
Where do you see the risen Jesus in your life? Where have you encountered the resurrection power? What plan do you have to put yourself in the places where Jesus is easily known?

What have been consuming in place of Jesus’ living water? Has it left you thirsty again? What would it look like for Jesus to slake your thirst?
Have you experienced food or water insecurity? Would you and your class consider how you might take clean water to those who have none as a way of following in the footstep of Jesus?
